QUALIFYING SLOTS
HAWAII QUALIFYING SLOTS
The Ironman Western Australia Triathlon is an Official Qualifier for the Ford Ironman World Championship in Kona , Hawaii , being held in October 2009. Ironman Western Australia will be awarding thirty- five (35) qualifying slots for the World Championship.
The distribution of qualifying slots will be in accordance with the rules of the World Triathlon Corporation as they apply at the time of the 2008 Ironman Western Australia Triathlon. Qualifying slots will be allocated proportionately to each age division with the actual number of professional slots determined separately. The winners of each age division will automatically be allocated a slot and the balance will be distributed on a basis proportionate to the number of entrants in each age division.
2008 Slot Allocation – will be posted outside the Race Info Office on Saturday 6 December, after initial Registration has been completed.

QUALIFICATION PROCESS
COMPETITORS WISHING TO QUALIFY MUST BE AT ROLLDOWN IN PERSON TO COLLECT THEIR SLOT
There are thirty- five (35) slots available at IRONMAN WESTERN AUSTRALIA for the 2009 Ford Ironman World Championship ( Hawaii).
At 9.00am on Monday 8 December, a list of the thirty-five competitors who have qualified for a slot at Hawaii will be posted outside the Race Info Office, Ironman Village. Qualifiers will have two hours to think about and decide whether they will accept their slot.
From 9.00am – 10.45am – Competitors who have qualified outright for a Hawaii slot are able to accept and pay for their slot (prior to the Ceremony) at the Race Info Office, Barnard Park . All conditions as listed below must be adhered to.
At 11.00am, the Acceptance Ceremony of 2009 Ford Ironman World Championship slots will commence and any slots that are not accepted will be rolled down until all 35 slots have been allocated.
To claim your slot for Hawaii , a competitor must:
- Either accept their slot from 9.00am – 10.45am at the Race Info Office OR attend the Rolldown process (Monday 8 December) in person with ID wristband still attached
- Provide photo ID
- Upon acceptance of a slot, complete the registration process (including receiving all details relating to Hawaii entry procedure and full payment of this slot) by 1.00pm on Monday 8 December
- Full payment of this Hawaii slot to be paid to IRONMAN WESTERN AUSTRALIA on Monday 8 December by credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Bankcard only) or Australia Post Money Order in Australian Dollars equivalent to US$550 (made out to IMG). This covers the US$550.00 entry fee. (This entry fee amount is subject to change at a later date).
- Exchange rate figures will be supplied to Qualifiers at Rolldown on Monday 8 December 2008
- Allow sufficient time to claim the slot and make the entry fee payment to have registration completed by 1.00pm
It is the responsibility of each competitor wishing to qualify to be present at Rolldown to claim a slot. |
