 ::  Water Sports ::

You don't have to be an expert to fish in the region, as anywhere from the quiet safe beaches, the old jetty or from a small boat should be sufficient to catch yourself a snapper, herring, whiting or tailor. In the warmer weather, paddleboats, sailboards and yachting are popular recreational pursuits. Snorkelling and scuba diving have increased in popularity as people come to realise that spectacular coral can be seen beneath the jetty. The Swan Dive Wreck is also a great diving destination. Whale watching and deep sea fishing tours are available in the region. Jet ski and boat hire is also available. Excellent boating facilities and support services are available at the new Port Geographe Marina. The Marina offers safe and secure moorings with a Tavern & Restaurant.

 ::  Winery & Gourmet Experiences! ::

The Margaret River Wine Region stretches westward from Busselton in the north to Augusta in the south. The boutique wineries that have developed throughout the region have made names for themselves both nationally and internationally. Responsible for only one per cent of Australia's wine production, the region supplies no less than 10 per cent of the premium table wine market! The emphasis has been on quality rather than quantity - a philosophy adopted by the region as a whole. Visitors will find vineyards dotting the picture book hillsides throughout the Capes. Each has its own style and ambience. In all, there are over 200 vineyards and 80 wineries - a remarkable number considering that wine was first produced in the region just 30 years ago. Character and quality can be found in fruit-intense chardonnays, rich semillons, robust cabernets, soft merlots and other varietal wines and blends. Many of the wineries feature the inspired works of local artists and craftspeople. Some of Western Australia's best restaurants are in the region, often serving wine from their own vineyards. Highly skilled chefs, have like the winemakers, been attracted to the region by the desire to work with high-quality produce. Invariably they are stimulated to produce dishes with flair and imagination - a singular experience for visiting gourmands.
